Rocking Live

Getting my sounds out there – It's raw, but its real!

On The Rocks!

Sitting alone on the rocks, right down in the absolute corner of the Rincon de Loix, I can see, stretched out before me, the whole of the Levante beach. The atmosphere is idyllic, with no other sound than that of the crystal clear Mediterranean sea, gently lapping around the base of the large boulders upon which I am sitting.

It’s Friday the 9th of October 2020, which is a fiesta here, and because of that, and because it is such a beautiful day, there are quite a lot of people milling around, despite the covid crisis. The beach front, which seems to be the busiest place about today, is buzzing with people. Several simply appreciating a nice walk along the beach promenade, others enjoying the bars and restaurants, while some savour the sand and the sea.

I didn’t take a dip myself today, but plenty of people were partaking in the calm waters – They seemed to be enjoying it too, so it must still have been comfortably warm, despite the summer having ended weeks ago.

The cable ski, which takes up a lot of the panorama, seems quite busy – customer laden boats arrive, with new skiers queuing for their turn. I didn’t spot any falling gracelessly, or humorously, into the water, so I assume most of them have done this before! It looks fun – I really should have a go, one of these days!

It is a beautiful tranquil spot I found, on the rocks, right at the end of the beach – far away from the unceasing hustle and bustle of Benidorm. Distant enough from daily hubbub, to sit quietly and read a book, meditate, or just enjoy being alone for a while – yet close enough to quickly pop somewhere for a nice cold pint of beer if you want one, or maybe two! (Which I did!)

Yours as ever
